V-Neck and a Cardigan

I eat food. I take photos. Sometimes I take photos of the food I eat.

Stanton Social, Lower East Side

Er and I went here last night and went appetizer crazy. This place is amazing.

The meal started off with little Ceasar Salad bites (pictured) compliment of the chef. Anything with free cheese is more than okay with me.

We decided to split 6 dishes, including:

Nori Spiced Tuna Tartare Roll (pictured)

Potato & Goat Cheese Pierogies with caramelized onions & truffle creme fraiche

French Onion Soup Dumplings (pictured)

Red Snapper Tacos with creamy avocado & spicy mango (pictured)

Barbeque Duck Confit & Black Bean Empanadas with smoked tomato & blood orange jam

Stone-Ground Blue Corn Crabcake ‘Corn Dogs’

Everything we had was incredibly delicious. I’d have to say my favorites were the pierogies and the crabcake corn dogs (what’s not to like… it’s delicious crab AND fried batter?).

The absolute best were the French Onion Soup Dumplings. It’s served in an escargots dish. Each toothpick has a crouton, melted gruyere cheese, and a soft (and hot!) round bread-like thing filled with French Onion Soup. I was speechless it was so good.

And now I want some more.
